Overleaf Collaborates with IEEE to Integrate Advanced Online Editing Tools into Newly-Launched IEEE Collabratec™ Online Community

London: Boston Oct 1, 1pm EST Today, Overleaf announced that IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization advancing technology for humanity, has integrated the Overleaf online LaTeX and rich text collaborative writing and publishing tool into IEEE Collabratec™, the new IEEE professional networking and collaboration platform.

IEEE, a global organization with more than 426,000 members around the world, launched IEEE Collabratec earlier this month. This new platform offers an integrated online community, enabling users to network, collaborate, manage content, and create documents – all within a centralized hub. IEEE Collabratec is designed for authors, researchers, IEEE members, and other technology professionals with similar fields of interest.

Overleaf, a cloud-based scientific authoring platform that makes it easy for researchers to write, collaborate, and publish technical documents, is fully integrated into IEEE Collabratec. Users will have access to Overleaf’s full LaTeX writing and editing platform, directly within the IEEE Collabratec system. With access to IEEE’s LaTeX templates, which will ease the writing process by having the correct template available with the click of a button, this full integration will also provide an unlimited number of users the opportunity to write and collaborate on unlimited projects, effortlessly syncing documents and metadata between the two systems.

Overleaf's mission is to make it easier for researchers to write, collaborate on and publish research and this full integration brings the efficiency of the Overleaf platform directly to IEEE Collabratec members and users.”

E. James Prendergast, IEEE Executive Director said,

“IEEE Collabratec competitively positions IEEE for the future of publishing, professional networking, and career development by bringing together authors, publishers, IEEE members, and other technical professionals who have similar interests – through an integrated online community, facilitating collaboration and connectivity,”
