A continuations-based approach to weak definites
Since their adaptation from a tool of computer science to one of linguistics, continuations have been applied to a wide variety of natural language phenomena. Here we expand upon these efforts to give an account of the class of phrases known as ``weak definites:'' nominals that appear with a definite article but do not set up an individual discourse referent. We draw upon Aguilar-Guevara and Zwarts' formalization of weak definites (2010) as reference to kinds to develop two operators that can be applied within the continuation-based grammar presented by Barker & Shan (2013) to produce weak readings.
X. Hallův jev (Hall Effect)
A project to:
Determine the dependence of the sample stream on the voltage at zero magnetic induction.
Find the dependence of the Hall voltage on the magnetic induction at two values of constant current sample.
Process the measurement results graphically and evaluate conductivity and Hall effect sample.
Calculate the mobility and concentration of charge carriers.
Sistema de Informação na Urgência
This document aims to recognize the existence of some national health information systems, particularly in the emergency department. Also aims to understand all the functions as well all their interactions with other systems. We enumerate some of these information systems at national level, based our information in instruction manuals, scientific articles and websites of the respective entities. Analysing the whole national reality, we conclude that there are several information systems in the emergency department having as objetive the provision and improvement of health of the patient. This diversity of systems reflects in several problems, like the interoperability, that influences the delivery of care.
A beamer presentation in LaTeX with facts and figures about metro rail networks in India and particularly Chennai.
Iteration of Matrices and the Fibonacci Sequence
We examine repeated iteration of various matrices from a graphical view, plotting each iterate vector for numerous randomly chosen initial values.
Then we examine a specific matrix and how why it generates the Fibonacci sequence.
A Derivation of the Three-dimensional Pythagorean Theorem
This short paper deals with a derivation of the three-dimensional Pythagorean Theorem employing the general equation of a circle. However, I am not presenting this paper with any kind of proofs or explanations for the concepts assisting the derivation of the Pythagorean Theorem.
