This is a way to make a tagged PDF version of the Thesis template. It is marked as semi-accessible because you will need to use alt text to describe math symbols. We are hoping that the packages for expressing math symbols become more compliant in this regard, but as of today, that is how this must be dealt with. https://grad.wisc.edu/current-students/doctoral-guide/#dissertation-guide is the link for formatting requirements.

The ltx-talk class can be used to create (on-screen) presentations, outputting tagged (accessible) PDFs. Its syntax is largely similar to beamer's, though not all of beamer's functionalities have been implemented in ltx-talk. Best compiled with LuaLaTeX especially if you want to tag mathematical contents automatically. ltx-talk is currently experimental. See the CTAN package ltx-talk webpage or the Github repository for the latest developments. If you'd like to use the latest version of ltx-talk in your Overleaf project, you can join our Labs program to access a rolling version of TeX Live in your projects.

This is the Overleaf example project, but produces a tagged (accessible) PDF. Best compiled with LuaLaTeX especially if you want to tag mathematical contents automatically. LaTeX's PDF-tagging capabilities are still developing. If you'd like to use the latest version of PDF-tagging features in your Overleaf project, you can join our Labs program to access a rolling version of TeX Live in your projects.
