This document contains information about the desired format of papers for blind peer review and publication (submission instructions available at \href{http://www.iass-iwss2026.org}{\underline{www.iass-iwss2026.org}}). Papers must be written in English and should be laid out on an A4 paper size. {\bf You can prepare your paper by simply replacing the content of this template}. {\bf The maximum file size of the submitted PDF document is 4 Mb} (a reduced-size PDF could be obtained on Windows using the Print to PDF option and on macOS using the Preview app, going to File $\rightarrow$ Export, and selecting the Reduce File Size Quartz Filter). Although manuscripts will be peer-reviewed and may be returned to authors for revision before publication, {\bf initial submissions should be made in final form, assuming that no revisions shall be necessary}. IMPORTANT: Your abstract should be a single paragraph of text only (no equations, figures, or special characters) and should be limited to about 10 to 15 lines of text in 11pt Times New Roman. This abstract will appear in the metadata of the paper in the online Proceedings on the IASS website, and the paper cannot be accepted for inclusion in the online proceedings unless this format is strictly followed and the one-paragraph, text-only rule for the abstract is observed.

Include a list in 10pt Times New Roman [Style: Keywords] of fewer than ten keywords, separated by commas, using nouns or adjective(s)-plus-noun forms that are relatively standard in the field of structural design. (For example: conceptual design, morphology, form finding, optimization, concrete shells, metal spatial structures, membrane structures, seismic design.)

\section{Introduction}
Manuscripts may be prepared using Microsoft Word, LaTeX, or another convenient editor, provided that the result follows the format of the file you are reading and that the result can be converted to a .pdf file compatible with Adobe Acrobat version 5 or later. Please, remember that your files should \underline{not} be password protected or otherwise locked, as editors may need to make additional minor edits and formatting changes.
If you use LaTeX, please use the source .tex file of this template. You can prepare your manuscript by replacing the contents of the .tex file and using a pdfLaTeX compiler to produce the .pdf document. To this end, the use of the %\href{https://docs.overleaf.com/getting-started/how-do-i-use-overleaf}{\underline{Overleaf}}
Overleaf LaTex editor is recommended (https://docs.overleaf.com/getting-started/how-do-i-use-overleaf).
{\bf IASS-IWSS 2026 invites papers of 8-10 pages in the format of this template. Please make sure that the ratio of figures to text is well proportioned. Page limits for papers are strict, and authors violating them will be asked to make edits to reduce their paper lengths as necessary.}
The papers will be published in electronic format as PDF files, so the use of color in figures and photos is possible and encouraged. The symposium proceedings will be available as a collection of PDF files at the time of the Symposium. They will also be issued electronically on the IASS website as part of the series with ISSN number 2518-6582.
\section{Text layout}
All text, figures, and tables should be placed within an area 160~mm wide by 232~mm high, as in this template. On A4 paper this is equivalent to 25~mm left and right margins, 35~mm top margin, 30~mm bottom margin, and a distance of 25~mm between the header and the top edge of the paper, and 20~mm between the footer and the bottom edge.
All elements of the paper are to be in Times New Roman font. This sample file gives the basic layout, and the vast majority of the text, including the text of the Abstract, is in 11pt Times New Roman fully justified.
Please do not modify the headers or footers, except for inserting the names of the authors in the first-page footer as indicated.
The paper should start with the Times New Roman 16pt bold title of the contribution as exemplified above. The title should have capital letters only at the beginning of the first word and for proper nouns or acronyms. Next are the names of all authors in 11pt and in 10pt the affiliation of the authors.
Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk. Use all capital letters for the surnames of all authors, precede the surname by the forename, and provide full first forenames rather than only initials. Indicate the affiliation of the corresponding author using the asterisk and the affiliations of other authors using lower-case superscript letters $^{\mathrm a}$, $^{\mathrm b}$, \ldots
The Abstract and Keywords follow the authors’ affiliations. The above layout example of Keywords describes their desired characteristics.
All of the numbered first-level headings as well as the unnumbered headings for the Abstract, Acknowledgements and References are in 12pt bold. Section headings for the first level should be consecutively numbered and should have capital letters only at the beginning of the section title and for proper nouns and acronyms.
\subsection{Subsections}
Headings for second-level subsections are 11pt bold and are numbered as shown in this example.
\subsubsection{Third-level subsections}
Headings for third-level subsections, if needed, are 11pt italic and are numbered, as shown in this example. Please do not use any further levels of subsections.
\subsection{Equations}
Equations should appear centered, numbered consecutively as shown in the example.
%
% \begin{equation}
% \label{equationlabel}
% -\frac{d}{dx}\frac{\partial F}{\partial y'}+\frac{d^{2}}{dx^{2}}\frac{\partial F}{\partial y''}=0
% \end{equation}
\begin{equation}
\label{equationlabel}
(x+a)^n=\sum_{k=0}^{n} \Big(\!\!
\begin{array}{c}
n \\
k
\end{array}
\!\!\Big)
x^k a^{n-k}
\end{equation}
%
Equation numbers should be enclosed in round brackets also when recalled in the text, as in~\eqref{equationlabel}. Simple equations and assignments, such as $\nu=0$, may also appear in the text (with variables in italics).
\subsection{Footnotes}
Footnotes should not be used.
\subsection{Units}
Use SI units exclusively. Conversions to imperial units (e.g. feet, inches, pounds, kips) may be provided in parentheses after the SI values are given.
\subsection{Figures and tables}
Tables should be labeled and numbered as in Table~\ref{tablelabel}. Figures and photos should be labeled and numbered as in Figure~\ref{figurelabel}. The captions are centered, set above the tables and below the figures, using 10pt fonts as shown below. As the papers will be disseminated in electronic format, colored photos, pictures, and diagrams do not produce any additional cost and are strongly encouraged. However, note that some readers may prefer to print your article for detailed study; therefore, it is advisable to design your diagrams so that they also ``work'' in black and white. Please embed all figures within the document and do not provide them as extra files.

\section{Referencing literature}
Use the IEEE citation style (more information \href{http://pitt.libguides.com/citationhelp/ieee}{\underline{here}})
%http://pitt.libguides.com/citationhelp/ieee)
as shown in the sample reference list at the end of this template. Cite references by numbers in square brackets in the text, possibly preceded by author names (e.g., Winslow et al.~\cite{Winslow2008}, Falk and Samuelsson~\cite{Falk2004}, or Crisfield~\cite{Crisfield1997}). The formats for references of books~\cite{Crisfield1997}, papers in conference proceedings or special issues~\cite{Falk2004}, and journal papers~\cite{Winslow2008} are exemplified in the 11pt list of references below. Sort the references in the order in which they are cited. The reference list should be included at the end of the paper and counts towards the page limit.
\section{Conclusions: submission of contributions}
The PDF file of the paper should be uploaded by the announced deadline following the instructions on the IASS-IWSS 2026 EasyChair submission website.
