Overleaf wins prestigious Nominet Internet Award #NIA2014
We won!!! Last night Overleaf was crowned Innovative Internet Business of 2014 at the Nominet Internet Awards, representing the pinnacle of online innovation in the UK.
What an amazing night it was too - the room was packed full of attendees from all thirty six shortlisted companies, and we all enjoyed a fantastic setting in amongst James Bond's most iconic cars and gadgets at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.
It was also great to see fellow BGV alumni #techmums pick up the award for best Online Skills and Training - congratulations to Sue and her brilliant team.

WriteLaTeX’s scientific collaboration platform ‘Overleaf’ takes home award in recognition of work contributing to the success of the UK internet.
Overleaf, the new scientific collaboration platform created by the team at writeLaTeX, was last night named as a winner at the Nominet Internet Awards 2014. The annual awards celebrate the businesses, charities, individuals and public and private sector organisations that are driving change, fostering economic growth and contributing to the overall success of the UK internet.
Overleaf was crowned the winner in the Innovative Internet Business category, winning the award for its rapidly growing service which has now been used to create over one million documents by users in over 180 countries worldwide. Overleaf makes science and research faster, more open and more accessible by bringing the whole scientific process into one place, from idea to writing to review to publication.
Now in their eighth year, the Nominet Internet Awards celebrate the best Britain has to offer online. The awards strive to highlight work that embraces the web, builds a diverse economy and makes the internet an accessible, secure and trusted space for all. The awards are open to any organisation or individual who is doing great work online, whether it benefits their business, the wider economy, local communities or the UK’s internet users in general. The winners were announced at a ceremony last night at the London Film Museum, hosted by technology commentator and journalist Kate Russell.
The Overleaf project joins the other winners in serving as shining examples of how the internet can be used to improve lives and communities across the UK.
